Alistair Brownlow

Principal, Rochester Independent College

Alistair joined Rochester Independent College in 1997 after teaching English in Russia and Romania. During his tenure at RIC, Alistair has fostered an award-winning English department and oversaw the start-up of the Lower school. RIC has now evolved from a successful sixth form day and boarding college into a growing secondary school for children from the age of 11.

Alistair was educated at St Andrews and Glasgow. At RIC he teaches A level English Literature and advises both international and UK students on their university applications.
