St Margaret’s Montessori Nursery School

– A message from the Head

“At St Margaret’s Montessori Nursery School we offer all children an opportunity of ‘self-development’ and motivation. They are aided by our specially trained staff, who guide the children to master their movements and to explore and order their impressions of the world. We provide a beautiful and carefully prepared environment where every child feels a very special sense of belonging.

We have a true ‘children’s house’ where each individual’s needs are nurtured and met through our loving and caring environment. Our aim is to follow, guide and support the children on their individual learning journey…”

We encourage the development of the whole child by providing a comprehensive Montessori education, nurturing independent thinking and early year’s foundation skills as well as self-awareness; empathy for others; social ability and confidence.

As a school we strive to instil within the child the intellectual, emotional, and physical skills needed to become a self-motivated learner, flexible thinker, creative problem solver, and support their natural and ever-increasing curiosity about the world in which they live.

We provide love and support to both the parents and the children. We ensure the souls of each child feels truly connected with the environment and every child can grow in self-confidence and self-esteem. We support their natural love, curiosity, awareness and sense of awe and wonder in their world.

We, at St Margaret’s are not just teachers. We are the guardians of the world’s most precious resource – your children. We look forward to meeting and sharing our vision with you.

“We must learn how to call upon the man which lies dormant in the soul of a child”

About
St Margaret’s Montessori Nursery School

St Margaret’s Montessori was started in 1990. It began in the basement of Number 8 Victoria road with just 13 children, before expanding into the whole building a few years later. Originally St Margaret’s Montessori taught children up to the age of 7, but in 2008 the decision was made to close the upper school, and to increase the size of the nursery.

St Margaret’s Montessori Nursery School offers all children an opportunity for ‘self-development’ and motivation. They are aided by specially trained staff, who guide the children to master their movements and to explore and order their impressions of the world. The nursery school provides a beautiful and carefully prepared environment where every child feels a very special sense of belonging.
