I am delighted to welcome you to Lyndhurst House. I am very proud to have been the headmaster here for the last 14 years. The School is a very happy, busy and fulfilling place. Ask a Lyndhurst boy what the most important thing about being at Lyndhurst is and he will say “To be kind to each other”. We put a high value on the way we treat each other, with kindness, tolerance and respect.
The School achieves excellent results at Common Entrance and Scholarship level.. The boys here are taught in small class sizes, ensuring that we are able to give each child the individual and nurturing attention he needs.
There are plenty of opportunities for boys to participate in activities outside the classroom – music, art and drama, as well as a full range of sporting activities with competitive fixtures against local schools.
We are very happy to have joined Dukes Education this year, and I would be delighted to show you round the School on a personal tour in order to see the School in action, with happy, well-rounded and confident boys.
About the school
Lyndhurst House is a day school in Hampstead for boys between the ages of 4 and 13. The School was founded in 1952, and has recently joined the Dukes Education Group.
Lyndhurst is a friendly and lively traditional boys’ school, with its own special atmosphere and character. The environment is warm and friendly, small and familiar in feel, yet full of bustle, activity and purpose, in which boys can find every opportunity for engagement and fulfilment.
We have an excellent record of achievement at Common Entrance and Scholarship level, particularly with the major London public schools. We especially prize enthusiasm and commitment, displayed by both staff and boys. We aim to foster self-respect, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility.
Parents are welcome to arrange a visit to see the boys and their work, or to attend one of our regular open mornings.
