Originally from the United States, Dr. Kerrie Elston-Güttler combines academic expertise with a passion for building exceptional learning communities. She holds a PhD in English and Applied Linguistics from the University of Cambridge and completed postdoctoral research in neurolinguistics and bilingual language acquisition at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. Her research has been published in numerous international journals and book chapters.
Inspired by the transformative power of bilingualism, Dr. Elston-Güttler transitioned from academia into education to help bring immersive bilingual (German and English) learning to life in a school setting. As a member of the founding team of Jules Verne Campus, she played a key role in shaping the school’s distinctive culture, built on respect, trust, wellbeing, and excellence.
Today, after more than a decade at JVC, she is responsible for the overall pedagogical operations of the Elementary School, Grammar School, Kindergarten and after-school (Hort) program. Her leadership is driven by a passion for strengthening teams, developing talent, and cultivating an extraordinary campus culture. Through inspiring events, meaningful traditions such as annual themes, and the power of storytelling, she celebrates the achievements of students and colleagues while strengthening the sense of purpose, belonging, and shared identity that defines the Jules Verne Campus community.
