Jules Verne Campus

At Jules Verne Campus in Munich, Germany, we say, “The journey into your future starts here.” Education is about far more than academic achievement: it’s about helping children and young adults discover who they are, develop confidence in their abilities, and find the courage to shape their own futures. As a bilingual German-English house of learning, we house a Kindergarten for children ages 3-6, an Elementary School, a Grammar School, and an after-school program, all following the demanding local Bavarian curriculum, but with an innovative twist.

Our vision is rooted in the belief that every child is unique. We place the learner at the center of everything we do, supporting and challenging each child or student – called learning partners at JVC-through a highly personalized educational approach. Through our successful, research-based approach to language immersion, children acquire bilingual competence with trusted educators who provide natural input in their given language. While our staff is about half German and half international, our JVC families are approximately 60% German and 40% international, and everyone shares a common belief in future-focused education.

Inspired by our namesake, Jules Verne, we see learning as an adventure and our learning partners as explorers on a hot air balloon journey. We encourage learning partners to ask questions, explore new ideas, think creatively, and approach challenges with resilience and optimism. Whether exploring big questions in Curiosology, our unique subject inspired by children’s natural sense of wonder, or discovering new talents through créAktiva, our rotating program of creative and active electives, our learning partners develop a lifelong love of learning. Future-oriented skills such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, resilience, and acting outside the box are woven into daily life on campus.

Relationships are at the heart of our work. We strive to create a culture in which every child feels seen, valued, and supported. Attachment and trust are the prerequisites for language immersion,  respectful interactions, and effective learning. A strong focus on storytelling along with festivals, project weeks, performances, art exhibitions, guest lectures, and charity initiatives showcase the creativity, achievements, and values of our learning partners and help solidify our supportive, yet diverse culture. Our cherished annual yearbook captures stories and milestones, while annual campus themes such as Stay Playful – Be Curious and Be Kind help frame our pedagogical work and encourage meaningful reflection across all age groups.

Alongside academic excellence, our commitment extends to guiding the holistic development of our learning partners. Healthy freshly prepared meals by our aware-winning catering team, daily movement and sport, coaching, and mindfulness build strong bodies and strong minds, fostering personal responsibility and wellbeing.

Above all, Jules Verne Campus is a place of discovery – a vibrant and welcoming community where children are encouraged to dream boldly, embrace challenges, and embark on their own unique journey. Just as our learning spaces are inspired by the worlds of Jules Verne – from Core, Sea, Island, Tree, Air, and Moon – each child progresses on their own adventure, supported by a community that believes in their potential.

I look forward to welcoming you to our Jules Verne universe, to being part of the Dukes Education family, and to continuing our exciting hot air balloon adventure!

About
Jules Verne Campus

Jules Verne Campus (JVC) is a bilingual German-English house of learning in Munich, Germany that unites four educational institutions with a common, innovative pedagogical concept: a Kindergarten for children aged 3–6, a state-approved Elementary School until grade 4, a state-approved Grammar School for grades 5-13 culminating in the German Abitur qualification, and an after-school and holiday care program. About 400 children and teenagers learn and grow within our vibrant educational community. Located in the green district of Perlach in Munich, just at the foot of the Bavarian Alps, Jules Verne Campus serves a diverse community consisting of approximately 40% international families from over 30 countries, and 60% German families. The schools follow the demanding local Bavarian curriculum and have so-called replacement school status.

Founded in 2013, Jules Verne Campus was founded in Munich to “make waves” in education with a clear vision: to provide a sustainable, bilingual, and intercultural education that prepares young people for a largely unknown future. Beginning with two elementary groups and an after-school program, JVC has steadily grown into a campus with children and students—who we call learning partners—from Kindergarten through to graduation. The Grammar School, founded in 2015, prepares learning partners for the academically rigorous German Abitur, and we have now had three successful graduating groups. Our Jules Verne Kindergarten, established in 2019, provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning from age 3 through attachment-based education, sport with a focus on swimming, and bilingual immersion.

The educational philosophy of JVC is inspired by the spirit of Jules Verne, whose imagination and sense of adventure inspires our learning partners who we see as explorers on a hot air balloon journey. Our values such as respect, connections, fostering passions, and trusting in success are woven into everything we do. Learning experiences completely unique to JVC such as our subject called Curiosology, which encourages inquiry and curiosity, and créAktiva, a rotating elective program, provide opportunities to discover new talents and passions.

At the heart of the Jules Verne Campus approach is bilingual language acquisition through immersion and the importance of strong relationships. Native-speaking educators create authentic German and English learning environments, enabling children to develop strong communication skills and intercultural competence from an early age. Another key focus area is our focus on Sport and fitness, allowing learning partners to benefit from the cognitive boost for learning these provide. JVC also places special emphasis on individual needs and future skills such as creativity, resilience, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, collaboration, respect, and thinking beyond conventional boundaries needed to build the future.

Crucial service aspects at Jules Verne Campus include all-day schooling—not standard in Bavaria—and healthy, freshly prepared meals by our award-winning catering team. Our community cherishes our carefully designed learning house with Jules Verne-inspired spaces such as Core, Sea, Island, Tree, Air, and Moon and with learning group names like Shell and Pearl in Kindergarten, Ruby and Emerald in Elementary School, and Neptune to the Sun in Grammar School.

In this environment, children and learning partners feel connected and empowered to dare to do what they dream. Jules Verne Campus: The journey into your future starts here!
