Students at Broomfield House School had a very successful start to October, winning competitions and showing excellent team spirit.
Four students took part in the annual Hampton School Maths Wizard Competition. They beat the top mathematicians from 20 other primary schools and came out triumphant, winning first place. The students showed great skill in solving a wide variety of challenging maths problems in a demanding three-hour afternoon session held at Hampton School.
Following this great achievement, 24 pupils from Broomfield were selected to represent the school in the ISA London and West Region Swimming Gala. Many students achieved personal best times and won a number of medals, and now await to hear who will participate in the national gala next month. It was noticeable how the children all supported each other with enthusiasm and kindness, demonstrating the school motto in action; ‘Lo, Here is Fellowship’.
Finally, Year 6 students entered the ISA Regional Art Competition in the Key Stage 2 3D Art Group category and were delighted to receive first prize. Mrs Frey, the proud art teacher, congratulated all the Year 6 pupils whose individual pieces came together to make this gorgeous collaborative work of art in clay saying, “This is a well-deserved award, the children worked hard and concentrated well in their lessons, playing close attention to detail in both their sculpting and painting of their models. Their picnics looked good enough to eat!”
