Isabel Morgado is a Portuguese historian and educational leader with over 30 years of teaching experience, including two decades in higher education.
She holds a PhD in History from the University of Porto, specialising in Medieval Portuguese history, particularly the study of military orders and the Order of Christ. Her academic career includes roles at the University of Porto and UniversidadePortucalense, where she combined teaching with senior leadership responsibilities in pedagogy, research, and institutional quality assurance.
Her research and publications have contributed significantly to the historiography of medieval Portugal, with a particular focus on the country’s period of expansion. In recognition of her scholarly contribution, she has been awarded a Medal of Merit.
Isabel joined CLIP – Oporto International School in 2006 and has since held a number of leadership roles, including Director-level positions across projects, wellbeing, and the Upper School, as well as coordinating the school’s Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation process. In 2019, she was appointed Head of School, leading the institution’s strategic and educational development.
As Head of School, she has played a central role in strengthening CLIP’s position as a leading international school in Portugal, supporting a diverse and globally minded community while promoting academic excellence, student wellbeing, and a broad co-curricular offer.
