Born in Australia, Jodi Fillingame is a career educator and currently Head of School at the International School Westpfalz (ISW) in Germany. Her professional leadership journey spans over 16 years and has taken her across Australia, Indonesia, the United States, China, and Germany, shaping a global perspective and a deep belief that education has the power to transform lives. She holds two Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and a Master’s in Wellbeing Leadership. Jodi began her career as a Physical Education teacher before going on to teach across all subject areas, later specialising in Special Education.
Jodi leads with heart and clarity, guided by a simple conviction: every person has untapped potential. She is passionate about creating school environments where individuals feel seen, valued, and inspired – places where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is nurtured, and people are empowered to grow into the very best version of themselves.
Growing up travelling through the Australian outback, she was educated through the School of the Air, an experience that instilled independence, resilience, and a lasting appreciation for learning beyond the expected. It is this early exposure to a different kind of education that continues to shape her belief that the most meaningful learning often happens outside the boundaries of a traditional classroom.
Jodi once imagined a future as a forensic scientist, before channelling that same curiosity into education, where she is driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
