Kelly Gray graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in English & Philosophy before completing a PGCE specialising in English. Her career of 25 years has spanned both the state and independent sectors, including leadership roles at Thomas’s Kensington, the founding leadership team of an ambitious trust school, Deputy Head and DSL at Ecole Jacques Prévert and, most recently, as Head of Bassett House School, where she led a period of significant growth, increasing pupil numbers by 50% while introducing an innovative bespoke baccalaureate alongside an enriched curriculum, including Spanish, Drama and horse riding.
Now entering her third year as Head of Prospect House School, Kelly has led the school through a period of ambitious development, building on its strong foundations while introducing new initiatives that place children’s wellbeing, character and future readiness alongside academic excellence, helping to develop an ambitious financial curriculum culminating in Prospect’s own ‘Dragon’s Den’, and launching the Dukes Diploma at Prospect House, further broadening opportunities for pupils to develop leadership, creativity and real-world skills.
Kelly’s professional interests include curriculum innovation, school improvement, leadership development and creating cultures where both children and staff flourish. Alongside achieving the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), she has gained her Montessori Diploma, serves as an ISI Inspector and is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT).
Kelly believes that every child deserves to be known, challenged and inspired, and that the very best schools combine academic ambition with warmth, kindness and a genuine sense of belonging.
