Mr. Michael Piening, Head of School, has been a member of the MacLachlan faculty since 1992. He previously held the position of Assistant Head, Upper School and Head of Mathematics before assuming the position of Head of School. Mr. Piening is responsible for upholding the mission of MacLachlan College. He leads the staff in the development and implementation of MacLachlan College’s Strategic Directions. He oversees the school’s daily operation and works closely with parents, staff and students to ensure quality education programs.
Michael is a graduate of the University of Guelph with an Honours degree in Applied Mathematics and Masters degree in Mathematical Education from York University. He received his teaching degree from the University of Western Ontario specializing in Mathematics Enrichment and core subject teaching at the Junior/Intermediate levels. In addition, Mr. Piening holds Senior Division, Mathematics Specialist and Principalship qualifications. Michael brings to the school years of experience as a MacLachlan College leader and maintains a high profile amidst MacLachlan students.
