St Andrew’s College

– Welcome note from the Principal

“I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you, officially, to St Andrew’s College Cambridge. The past few years have been very exciting at St Andrew’s. Every year we broaden our horizons, building on our foundations of academic excellence and a wide and varied extra-curricular programme.

However, we do not plan to rest on our success. Instead, we want to ensure we achieve the goal of becoming the best college possible for each and every one of our students. Some people will say it’s impossible to truly be the best. But we like to think that we have the right idea of how to confront what those naysayers believe.

We prefer to adopt “a healthy disregard for the impossible.” Embracing that thought process will allow opportunities for our students to excel during their time at St. Andrew’s.

The college is a wonderfully energetic place and home to students from nations across the world. It is a lively environment where students are motivated to pursue their academic and personal goals through a range of subjects and extra-curricular activities. I am looking forward to welcoming you to our St. Andrew’s community someday soon.”

About
St Andrew’s College

St Andrew’s College Cambridge has been offering both UK and international students the opportunity to study in central Cambridge for over 40 years. The college prides itself on its small size and dedicated teachers who are committed to helping students achieve their personal and academic goals. St. Andrew’s has a family-like atmosphere, with many long-standing members of staff who have served the college for over a decade, helping and supporting students in every aspect of their studies.

A broad range of courses is available at St Andrew’s, including Pre-A-level, GCSEs, and A-levels. The college also offers 11 university foundation courses including Architecture, Engineering, and Business. Foundation students have an excellent track record, with 100% of students going on to university study.

St Andrew’s offers UK and international students an outstanding education as well as an engaging extra-curricular programme and high-quality accommodation.

Accommodation at St Andrew's

Students live in small boarding houses with 8-18 students in single or double rooms. Every boarding house is overseen by a live-in House Manager, who lives at the residence 52 weeks a year, ensuring all students are safe, cared for, and supervised.

What students can expect from St Andrew’s and what St Andrew’s expects from each student

The college asks all students to do very simple but extremely important things during their time at St Andrew’s. If they do these things, not only will they be successful and improve themselves, the college also will continue to be a place that the whole community can be very proud of.

Be Kind

The expectation is not just of being tolerant of others in the college community, but to truly accept all with kindness.  “To the world you are one person, but to one person you are the world.”

Finding Passion

Whether it is Engineering, Architecture, Law, or Maths, at St Andrew’s we make sure students have the opportunity to find their passion through the classes, clubs, and sports available, and are always invited to start new ones.

Commit to Excellence

In order to succeed, students must commit to:

  • Participate in the clubs, sports, and/or activities that are available
  • Earn at least six participation and progress points per term
  • Attend all IELTS classes (if applicable) to ensure they can enhance their learning and fulfil their potential,
  • Demonstrate good citizenship
  • Maintain a 95% attendance rate
  • Complete their chosen course with an acceptable grade to go to their chosen university

Cardiff Sixth Form College

– A letter from the Principal

“Cardiff Sixth Form College is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. Academic achievement, university placement, and skills for future career success are core elements of our provision. Developing critical, creative learners who can collaborate and communicate well, leads to the education of individuals fit for the future.

Founded as a small, private tutorial college in 2004, Cardiff Sixth Form College has quickly grown into the leading academic A-level school in the UK…”

Staff are experts; students are motivated and together; the results are inspiring. University placements are wide ranging and impressive, both in the UK and internationally.

In 2017, Cardiff Sixth Form College became a part of the Dukes Education family. We are proud to be a part of this family, contributing to and gaining from our relationship with the diverse range of other college family members, as well as the exceptional university preparation offered through Oxbridge Applications and A-List UK.”

About
Cardiff Sixth Form College

Cardiff Sixth Form College was founded in 2004 as a small, private tutorial college focusing on academic achievements. It has gained a name for itself as the Top Independent School in the UK, after catapulting to the top of the league tables in 2010, a position it has almost exclusively occupied ever since.

Its unique, ‘East-meets-West’ approach to education has developed from a careful study of the most successful teaching philosophies worldwide. The college integrates the rigour and discipline prized in Eastern education with the value placed on individual creativity and intellectual curiosity in the West.

The outcome of this global approach is not only unparalleled results but a student body that goes on to win places at a clutch of the most prestigious universities in the world. 100% of students achieve A*-B and 94% A*-A.

Best private A-level college in the UK

Cardiff Sixth Form College has won the accolade of being placed at the top of the Education Advisers’ league tables for the eighth consecutive year, in two categories: Top Private Co-educational Boarding School, and Top Independent Sixth Form College.

Cardiff has also topped the independent schools league tables, published by The Sunday Telegraph and The Times, more often than any other school in the UK.

Cardiff Sixth Form College welcomes GCSE and A-Level students.

Sancton Wood School

– A message from the Principal

“A warm welcome to Sancton Wood School, a community of fun and energy close to the heart of Cambridge city centre.

Our school was founded in 1976 as a primary school and since then has expanded year on year. We now operate across three sites and have 400 children on roll.  Our Core Values shape everything we do and define what we stand for: inclusivity, care, and a deep worth of the individual.  We value learning too and believe that a carefully planned, pastoral approach to education will lead to outstanding academic outcomes; at GCSE, for example, our students excel, recording results which are way above the national average…”

In 2018, we joined the Dukes family and I have been delighted by the support and investment they have given to the school.  Most strikingly, in the purchase of a brand new secondary school site which will allow us to improve our provision further and grow to three forms of entry.

Our most recent ISI inspection captured our mission statement perfectly concluding that:

‘From EYFS upwards, pupils at Sancton Wood are highly successful in their learning and development. Their achievement is excellent.’

They also concluded:

  • ‘Pastoral Care is excellent.’

  • ‘Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent.’

  • ‘Curricular and extra curricular provision is excellent.’

Recently, the best reference for the school I’ve come across was from one of our Y2 pupils who, on the walk home from school, told her mum, “I like Sancton Wood so much I’d like to spend Christmas Day there.”

About
Sancton Wood School

Sancton Wood School is an independent, co-educational nursery and day school in Cambridge, educating children from 1 to 16 years of age. It joined Dukes Education in September 2018. Sancton Wood is a school that focuses on discovering the innate qualities and skills of every child, helping them to develop these to full capacity.

The school has a reputation for instilling good manners, reliability, and self-discipline into every child that comes through its doors in Cambridge. The small, supportive, and close-knit community is often likened to a family – kind and tolerant, where everyone can find their place and be valued. The school’s setting, close to parks, museums, and the centre of Cambridge, allows for the provision of an outstanding contribution to the social, emotional, and academic development of each child.

Class sizes are small at an average of 16 pupils, creating fabulous learning environments where teachers have time for individuals and pupils feel comfortable sharing their ideas and where imaginations can wander freely.

More than anything else, however, the school is about discovering the deep worth of every individual and promotes the development of personal talents and interests.
