Broomwood Prep – Girls

We provide a forward-thinking holistic education in beautiful grounds between Clapham and Wandsworth Common. Our programmes are tailored to the needs of the modern world. We are big enough to stretch and stimulate, yet small enough to know each girl as an individual.

We embrace latest advances in educational thinking and technology. Broomwood Girls benefit from progressing at their own pace in the classroom, but join with Broomwood Boys for academic extension activities, including joint House competitions, as well as sports, creative workshops and residential trips.

We care about instilling good values, promoting resilience and giving each girl a fully rounded education.  We take pride in the breadth of our successes from our outstanding academic results to achievements in sport, drama, art and music. Our pupils go on to top day or boarding schools at 11 or 13+. We enjoy some of the best prep school results in London, with children winning competitive scholarships for academic studies, music, sport, drama and art.

However, we are not a hot-house.  We do not want girls to feel the pressures faced by too many this age.  We’re immensely proud of our fantastic pastoral care which is key to the academic and personal success of our girls. The journey our pupils are on, allows them to thrive and be successful because they are so well supported. Our tutor system means there is always an adult at school, who takes an interest – a real interest – in every child’s triumphs, disasters and achievements. This, I believe, is what truly sets us apart.

We have wonderful buildings and surroundings with some of the best prep facilities in London, including a fully-fledged DT Suite, specialist science labs and cookery school. We have superb and dedicated staff, supportive parents who believe in what we are trying to do, girls who are rewarding and a joy to teach. I personally couldn’t want for anything more. We exist to provide a traditional, rounded education, tailored to meet the needs of the modern world, where our girls collaborate closely with the boys at  Broomwood Prep – Boys. Our pupils are hardworking, focused and confident – and they relish the challenges and opportunities that Broomwood provides. Visitors and staff alike seldom fail to notice the constant buzz of laughter and the sense of happiness that come from time and effort well spent. Our motto, ‘BeYourBEST’ exemplifies the ethos of our school.
