Michael is an experienced educational leader with a focus on bilingual teaching. After earning his BA in History and Hispanic Studies from the University of Sheffield, Michael embarked on a journey across Europe, teaching in Spain, Belgium, and the UK. His passion for European studies led him to KU Leuven, where he completed an MA before returning to England to obtain a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages at Liverpool Hope University.
Michael’s teaching career took him to schools in Merseyside and Yorkshire, where he excelled as a Spanish and French teacher before feeling a strong pull back to Spain. In 2015, he joined the Colegio Inglés de Zaragoza as a History and English teacher in the Secondary school.
Since then, Michael has made significant contributions to the school’s bilingual program, serving as Head of English and later Head of Secondary. In 2021, he took up the position of Head Teacher, steering the institution towards continued excellence and converting the Infants school to the British curriculum under his leadership. With his diverse experiences and unwavering dedication to education, Michael Wright-Elliott inspires students and colleagues alike to reach new heights of achievement.
